MEMBER BENEFITS

Full Home-Club Membership in the Utah Figure Skating Club entitles you to the following:

  • Membership in U.S. Figure Skating, including subscription to “Skating” magazine (one per household).

  • Eligibility to take U.S. Figure Skating tests at a reduced rate; you will receive certificates and patches for tests passed.

  • Opportunity to attend the annual Awards Dinner celebration. 

  • Eligibility to compete in U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned competitions.

  • Opportunity to perform in the annual Spring Ice Show and Christmas Showcase. Solos are granted to members who meet the test requirements, typically Preliminary Free Skate for the Christmas Show, and Juvenile Free Skate for the Spring Show.

  • Members over the age of 18 may serve on the Utah FSC Board of Directors, as well as vote on club issues.

  • May be eligible to apply for Scholarships for Sectionals and Nationals; Officials may be eligible for reimbursement of education expenses incurred during the season.

LEVELS OF MEMBERSHIP

Full Member (Under 18, Non-Voting)


This membership requires the purchase of a Parent Partner Membership. This membership is for skaters under the age of 18. ​If you are a competitive skater who will be testing and competing throughout this next season then this is the level for you. Full members have all benefits and privileges allowed by the club including participation in all club sponsored activities, privileges of Club Ice, opportunity to apply for Utah Figure Skating Scholarships (if you meet eligibility requirements), reduced fees for test sessions, the opportunity to purchase skating apparel bearing the club logo, a subscription to Skating magazine and for those over the age of 18 and the right to vote at General Membership meetings.




Parent Partner Membership (Voting)


This is a voting membership that must be purchased with the Full Membership (under 18 yrs old).​ We feel that it is important that every member of the club have a say in what happens and as only those who are 18 and older may vote, we have instituted the role of “Parent Partner” as a mandatory level of membership for all of our younger skaters so that their parents may represent them at General Membership Meetings to vote on budgets, bylaw changes, nominations to the board of directors and any other club business which requires a vote. This allows all parents who sign up for this level to be considered and eligible (if they so desire) to be nominated to a board position.




Additional Family Member (Voting)


If you have two or more members of your family who would like to be Full Members of the club then this level is perfect for you. After the initial member pays the Full Member fees then each additional member can join at a reduced rate but still receive all the benefits of Full Membership. Voting rights are for members 18 years of age and over.




Introductory/First Year Membership (Non-Voting)


​​This membership is for first time club members skaters currently enrolled in the UFSC Skating Academy. This USFSA Introductory Membership includes a subscription to Skating magazine, the ability to participate in Academy classes and club ­sponsored activities such as Ice Shows, Exhibitions/Recitals, and the End of Year Banquet. You may also compete in all US Figure Skating sanctioned events under the UFSC name and you may purchase skating apparel bearing the club logo. This is for first time members and can only be used for your first year of membership. No person may be an Introductory Home­ Club Member for more than one year even if their membership lapses.




Adult Membership (Voting)


This is a full voting membership for individuals over the age of 18 wishing to support the Utah Figure Skating Club.This membership has all of the benefits of a Full Member, including the right to test and compete.




Skating Professionals and Officials (Voting)


​​This membership is for USFS Registered coaches or USFSA registered officials that desires to support the Utah Figure Skating Club. Coaches and Officials at this level would be entitled to claim UFSC as their home club with all the rights and privileges afforded to a Full Member.




2nd Club Member (Non-Voting)


This membership is for skaters who currently designate another club as their primary home club, but would like to be involved in some of the club­sponsored activities hosted by UFSC. Your Home Club status would not change but you would have the opportunity to participate in Ice Shows or Exhibitions/Recitals and you may skate on club ice.




Collegiate Membership Package (Voting)


​This is a four­ year full USFSA membership at a reduced rate for college­ aged members, and all skating privileges apply for the four­ year duration. Collegiate members may purchase this membership package through UFSC. Each athlete may receive this option only once during their skating career. This membership carries the same privileges as a full member, including subscription to SKATING magazine, and all testing and competition rights. You may sign up any time in college; good for a consecutive four­ year period. Full members have all benefits and privileges allowed by the club including participation in all club sponsored activities, privileges of Club Ice, opportunity to apply for Utah Figure Skating Scholarships (if you meet eligibility requirements), reduced fees for test sessions, the opportunity to purchase skating apparel bearing the club logo, and the right to vote at General Membership meetings.




Special Needs Skater


​​This is a full membership for our skaters who have special needs.




Lifetime Exempt (Voting)


​​Lifetime Exempt is a full voting membership presented by special invitation by the UFSC Board of Directors.
